“Shaken, Not Stirred”, go the immortal phrase. It’s hard to believe there was a time it didn’t exist. However, there was. The words were first uttered by James Bond in the first “Bond” story Casino Royale (1953). Not to be confirmed with the film of the same name, the first Daniel Craig Bond movie. His latest, and last No Time to Die (2021) is just out, and SciFiPulse has reviewed it. What a film it is . . .

Shaken, Not Stirred

James Bond, super spy –

name from book on birds,

made his favourite drink

famous for these words . . .

Playing cards so much

made for thirsty work;

drinking on the job —

Bond’s employment perk

Dealt a losing hand

in a high stakes game;

drinking the wrong drink

must be what’s to blame

Only one thing for it then:

that only he says –

that iconic, famed

personal catchphrase . . .

There’s just no other

sound quite like these words heard;

it’s onscreen magic when

Bond states: “shaken not stirred”!

Not long ago we published a feature about the battle for the next Bond . . . It came down to Henry Cavill vs Tom Hardy. Just recently, we ran a feature that ranked Daniel Craig’s Bond movies. It’s hard to believe that it’s taken May The Verse Be With You until now to deliver you a Bond poem, dear readers. But now seemed to the perfect time to! And, no need to worry, James Bond will return! . . .
