Hard Voiced Hero

‘The Hard Voiced Hero’ celebrates the steely voiced hero — Batman! It’s this year’s Christmas special (the one closest to the big day). It’s to the tune of ‘Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer’, so you can gather around your bat-caves and sing it! Last week’s poem ‘The Night Before Thanos’ was the first festive special of the season. And, we’ve one more coming up next week, too, to see the year out.

Batman The Hard Voiced Hero

Intro

You know Superman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman,

Green Lantern, Cyborg, The Flash and Robin

But one voice stands tall —

the hardest voice of all . . .

Verse I

Batman the hard-voiced hero

spoke in a very mean tone,

and if you ever heard it

you would know it’s tough as bone

Verse II

All other superheroes

could not speak like Batman can

oh, how they all got jealous

when he would say I’m Batman!

Chorus I

Then The Joker turned and said,

laughing without shame:

Batman why’s your voice so deep —

you really sound very lame . . .

Verse III

At night the The Knight of Gotham

cried about it sad in bed,

he wished he could tell his parents

and he wished that they weren’t dead . . .

Verse IV

“Master Bruce, I’ve told you this”,

He’d hear Alfred say

“If Joker could growl like you”

he’d say “I’m Batman” all day!

Chorus II

The all in DC comics,

the heroes and the villains too,

said to the hard-voiced hero:

nobody speaks quite like you!
