Night Before Thanos

‘Twas the night before Thanos . . . Yes, this is a brand new take on the famous festive poem ‘The Night Before Christmas’, by Clement Clarke Moore. It’s actually called ‘A Visit from St. Nicholas’. So, technically this week’s first festive special should be called ‘A Visit from Thanos’. Last year’s first festive special ‘ A Silver Surfer Song‘ was also a marvel character! So, it’s more Christmas marvel fun this year!

The Night Before Thanos

T’was the night before Thanos

and nobody knew

that soon things would turn

so desperate and blue

He was dead set on wiping

half of all life away,

and felt that nobody

could save the day . . .

He’d been gathering stones,

amassing them well —

once he had more four

then he couldĀ  raise hell

And so got them he did

then clicked so much to dust;

it felt pointless to fight,

but that they that they must . . .

Once he cracked time travel

brand new hope shone —

Tony Stark gave his life

and avenged everyone!

This piece is very much based on the “MCU Thanos”, as portrayed by Josh Brolin (we know, the earlier films weren’t him). So, when you picture the Thanos of this poem, picture him! And, whilst it’s Thanos starring in this poem, the ‘Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man/Tony Stark’ steals the show – quite right! Next Friday is the last before Christmas – Christmas Eve, and we’ve got a special poem planned!
