Enemy at the Gates

Synopsis: In ‘Enemy at the Gates’. When an army of Godspeeds attack Central City, Barry and Iris must put their family plans on hold and focus on the latest threat to their home. Chillblaine is released from prison and claims to be reformed but Frost has her doubts.

The Story

When barry is visited by his future daughter Nora in a dream. He begins to get excited about the prospect of having his daughter with Iris. But his moment is soon interrupted when an Army of Godspeeds starts attacking the city. Knowing that he must put a stop to them. Barry goes after one of the Godspeeds and finds himself lured into a trap, which leads them to the gates of Starlabs. Now trapped inside Starlabs. Barry and Chester must figure out a way to stop the Godspeeds from getting into the complex.

Elsewhere in Starlabs. Frost has brought Chillblaine to the complex to treat some injuries he has sustained and she begins to think that he may have changed. Also, Allegra, Cecile and Caitlin continue their efforts to help Ultraviolet heal.

The Acting

Brandon McKnight puts in another solid performance as Chester P. Runk who is gaining some belief in his abilities and slowly becoming a true member of Team Flash. I really enjoyed the scenes that he got to play with Barry (Grant Gustin) and also enjoyed his scene with Gideon the Starlabs computer.

Danielle Panabaker is fantastic as Frost and the warming up of her frosty relationship with Chillblaine (Jon Cor) was fun to watch. Especially the moment when the two are facing certain death when confronted by Godspeeds.

Overall

‘Enemy at the Gates’ should really have been called ‘Enima at the Gates’ given that it had so many edge-of-the-seat moments. The various clones of Godspeed provided a real sense of danger. Especially given that they are such a threat to Barry and his speedster powers. The storyline of Barry being visited by Nora West Allen in a dream was fun. And makes me wonder if we will be seeing a return for Jessica Parker Kennedy as the younger speedster in future episodes.

We get left with a few more questions than answers and have a pretty big cliffhanger to boot. This will keep us all guessing until next week.
