Van Williams ‘Green Hornet’ dies at 82

The well known actor behind the Green Hornet's mask has passed away.

Van Williams, perhaps best known as the 1960’s ‘Green Hornet’ during, died last week near his Scottsdale, Ariz home from renal failure.  The actor was 82 years old.

Williams appeared as detective Kenny Madison in both ‘Bourbon Street Beat’ in 1960 and ‘Surfside 6’ in 1962 and also played a businessman in ‘The Tycoon’ from 1964 to 1965.

But undoubtedly, many a nostalgic fan will remember the actor as the iconic and cult newspaper tycoon turned super hero Britt Reid, who became the crime fighting ‘The Green Hornet’,  which famously introduced Bruce Lee as his martial artist  side kick ‘Kato’ to the world.
