British Satellite Television Service Sky One is ramping up to launch a brand new Sci-Fi drama series called Intergalactic. The show is set to launch on April 30 and boasts a strong cast as well as a Science Fiction premise that is rather grounded.
So What’s It All About
Intergalactic focuses on a fearless young cop and galactic pilot, Ash Harper (Savannah Steyn), who has her glittering career cut short when she is accused of treason. The sentence for her crime is a stay at a prison colony. However, while on the way to the colony. A group of other prisoners stages an escape. Now a fugitive and on the run. Ash has to figure out how she can work alongside mob leader Tula Quik as the gangs pilot.
Gang leader Tula and her partner Candy are set on reaching a Free planet called Arcadia. This leaves Ash facing an uncertain future away from her mother who is the head of the Galactic Security.
So Whose In It
Leading the cast of Intergalactic as Ash Harper is newcomer Savannah Steyn. Joining her will be Sharon Duncan-Brewster who fans might recognize from her roles in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ and ‘Sex Education’.
Playing the role of Ash’s mother. Who happens to be the Head of Galactic Security is Parminder Nagra who is best known for her role in the hit 2002 movie Bend It Like Beckham.
The show also stars Thomas Turgoose (This is England), Oliver Coopersmith (Tin Star), Imogen Daines (Black Mirror), newcomer Diany Samba-Bandza.
The series is written and produced by Julie Gearey whose previous work includes shows such as Prisoners’ Wives, Cuffs and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
The series is set to begin airing on a weekly schedule on Sky One from 30th of April. For those that would like to binge it. The whole season, which comprises 8 episodes will be available to stream via Sky Televisions streaming service Sky Now.
