Although ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ has only just hit cinemas it looks like plans for a sixth film is underway.
Leading star Tom Cruise told The Daily Show that he will be back as Ethan Hunt for a sixth instalment of the franchise.
“We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer,” he explained to host Jon Stewart.
If Cruise and the production team behind the films remain on the same page ‘Mission Impossible Six’ could turn out to be the fasted made sequel in the franchises history. Until recently that has usually been a gap of at least four years between the films.
So far the franchise has grossed a combined $2 billion at the worldwide box office – which will only increase once Rogue Nation opens in over 40 countries.
Paramount is yet to officially announce the next Mission: Impossible movie.
