The BBC have revealed that they will be calling time on their hit series ‘The Musketeers’ after the forthcoming third series.
The show, which premièred back in 2014 was an instant hit with viewers and gained momentum last series despite the departure of Peter Capaldi, who traded in his cardinal robes for ‘Doctor Who’.
The third series of the show was announced in February of 2015 – but it is now confirmed that the third season will see an end to the show after a total of 30 episodes.
“Season 3 of The Musketeers completes this 30-hour series with ambition and energy,” said executive producer Jessica Pope. “It is packed with action and adventure, fun and drama from the very first opening seconds of episode one to the very end.
“I loved being in The Musketeers,” Everett said. “The actors were all brilliant – as were the directors. It was hard work but fun. We were on location in the Czech Republic which is stunning and Prague is incredible. It was a hot Summer, so doubly great!”
‘The Musketeers’ will be back on BBC One later this year – with Alexandra Dowling, Ryan Gage, Tamla Kari, Hugo Speer and Maimie McCoy also returning to the series.
