BOOM! Studios has recently announced that the first issue of Jonesy, a new limited series from Sam Humphries (Legendary Star Lord, Weirdworld) and Caitlin Rose Boyle (Buck n’ Lou & the Night Crew), has in fact sold out through its first printing at the distributor level. As such, BOOM! Studios has in fact rushed a second printing in order to fill the demand.
Jonesy is described as a “cool dork” who spends her time making zines which nobody really reads, and watching anime while listening to riot grrrl bands and 1D simultaneously. But Jonesy also has a secret that nobody knows about. She secretly has the ability to make people fall in love!
Imagine that, a teenager in plaid cloths with the powers of Cupid. The only regrettable catch is that her powers don’t work on herself and the poor girl’s going to have to find love the good old-fashioned way. In the meantime however, Jonesy needs to figure out exactly how to distract herself from the very real emotions she must inevitably face when her powers go wrong.
BOOM indicates that Jonesy #1 saw an impressive 46% increase in retailer orders, with the debut issue seeing another 25% increase for the exclusive variant cover. Jonesy #1 second print will be shiping with a modified cover by Boyle and copies are anticipated to be in stores by April 6 and Jonesy #2 will likewise arrive in stores by March 16.
