About a decade ago. The brand known as Playmates was synonymous with Star Trek action figures, and although they have been away for a while. They’re looking to make a splash with a whole new generation of Star Trek fans with their new line of figures, which will showcase the world of ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’.
And thanks to Trekmovie.com we now have a first look at the Prodigy figures, which will beam down to Toy Stores in the Autumn.
Prodigy characters coming in the Autumn
As you can see by the image included below. Each of the key cast members from the series will be included in this first wave.
- Dal R’El with Murf
- Gwyn
- Jankom Pog
- Zero
- Hologram Janeway
- Rok-Tahk (coming early 2023)
Unfortunately, no image has been released yet of Hologram Janeway as yet. But we are sure that Playmates will get around to releasing the good Captain eventually. However, what we do know is that the figures will be five inches and will feature 14 points of articulation. And much like in the good old days. Each figure will come packaged in a highly collectible and carded blister pack. Which means that some collectors will buy two of each. One for displaying and another to store away with their other collectibles.
“We are excited to be bringing Star Trek: Prodigy toys and accessories home to families for the first time. This new lineup we are unveiling is highly focused on playability—we want kids to take the toys out of the packaging and engage in imaginative play as if they were part of the Star Trek world themselves,” said Karl Aaronian, senior vice president, Playmates Toys.
These great-looking figures will be available to buy via online stores in October. But will not be on store shelves until the spring of 2023.
