The next Star Wars series to drop on Disney Plus will be Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will see Ewan McGregor reprise his iconic role from the Clone Wars prequel movies. But it seems that Obi-Wan will have a whole new batch of problems to deal with in the form of The Inquisitors, who fans were first introduced to in the Star Wars: Rebels animated series. In that series. The Inquisitors were dark forces users whose sole purpose was to hunt down and kill the Jedi.

One piece of exciting casting on the series is Kumail Nanjiani who we saw in The Eternals. And his character, which as yet remains unnamed is rumored to be an old contact of Obi-Wan. According to  Making Star Wars Obi-Wan will meet up with Nanjiani’s character on a planet that is described as Space Reno. This planet is said to be another hive of scum and villainy. Either way, the information that Nanjiani’s character will provide will lead Kenobi to a spice den where the Jedi finds and rescues a kidnapped Princess Leia.

The report, which is linked above also includes details about the return of The formidable Inquisitors who we last saw in Rebels. Their inclusion in the story is allegedly part of a plot point that sees the Kidnap of Princess Leia as a means by which the Inquisitors will trap the old Jedi. By the time the series begins. The Inquisitors will have learned of Kenobi’s close links to Senator Organa.

Separate reports seem to validate the Princess Leia kidnap plot, but also add that the 10-year-old future leader of the Rebellion will be rescued from a Cantina establishment.

Right now any real information about the new series is scarce. So take the above with a pinch of salt and enjoy speculating about what the series might hold for us. However, a report a few weeks ago claimed that Jimmy Smits, who played the role of Senator Organa in the movies was seen on the set of the new show. So, we might just see a 10-year-old version of the princess at some point. However, I am just hoping that we get to see the badass Inquisitors again…
