Final Episode Revelations

The latest MCU series Ms. Marvel ended two weeks ago. You can read our review of the Season One finale of Ms Marvel, ‘No Normal’, now. An important scene saw a revelation about “Ms. Marvel” Kamala Kahn (Iman Vellani). Bruno (Matt Lintz) had been analyzing Kamala’s (Iman Vellani) blood. Some sort of “mutation” was discovered, by him. In the background, the theme tune to the 1990s Animated X-Men series could be heard . . . It was quite clear that this was related to the introduction of mutants into the MCU. The inclusion caused a great deal of excitement, and many said it’s now official — mutants are in the MCU. But it’s not really surprising, and she might not even be the first one . . .

Unexpected?

Looking back over the events in the MCU, there are possible other examples of mutants. The first one is during the events of WandaVision. We saw that apparently Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) was somehow “activated” by Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) building of Westview, or her exposure to Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). This would suggest that Monica (Teyonah Parris) had the latent “X” gene. This isn’t confirmed, but it was a popular theory at the time.

Going Forward

One thing’s for sure: this will definitely have connotations going forward. However, we don’t know exactly what they will be. But we can assume it will be further explored. Furthermore, it will likely it will be tied into the X-Men coming into the MCU. There are those who aren’t happy this was done this way. But it’s only something teased. What we know is that we aren’t going to see Ms. Marvel become the first mutant in this phase. Last week the slate for up to the end of MCU phase six was released. There was no sign of the X-Men. But we do know they are on their way . . .
