It’s no secret that Lego rules the world and for the last few years. The popular little brick toys have invaded the realms of movies and video games and so much more. Over the last 10 years, we have been given Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, and even Lego versions of Marvel superheroes. But thus far The Doctor and the Tardis have somehow escaped being snatched up by the addictive little bricks.

Could this be about to change? Well with Doctor Who on the verge of celebrating his/her or Its 60th anniversary, which will be in November of 2023. It would certainly be an opportunity for Lego to do something big. Provided of course that the BBC allow them to use the License to do so. But could it actually happen? And if so how would they solve all the timey wimey paradoxes and would the game’s story be a multi-Doctor story? These are the sort of questions that anxious fans will likely ask. But unfortunately, our powers of deduction do not extend to knowing what is in the minds of BBC Executives.

What we can tell you is that a rather interesting rumor has appeared on Reddit, which claims that a Lego Doctor Who game is in development. Should this be true then the folks behind the rumored game will have over 59 years’ worth of content to pull from for the game’s storyline, we will obviously get Daleks, Cybermen and the usual suspects. But it could well mean that we get lego’s own versions of lessor known Doctor Who baddies as well as characters that we haven’t seen since the series returned to television in 2005. Might we see a return for The Meddling Monk or the Rani? Might we even see a return for Omega? Who knows. But it would be interesting to see.

As fans already know. The 5oth anniversary TV special featured a return for David Tennant in ‘Day of The Doctor’, which saw the 11th and 10th meet and work with the War Doctor to correct time.

As far as video games go. Doctor Who has been rather hit and miss. In fact, more misses than hits. So should Lego be doing this game. It would be a shot in the arm for Doctor Who and might give the much-loved character a new lease of life in games. To date, Lego has only ever used The Doctor in an expansion pack for LEGO Dimensions, which enabled players to build the 12th Doctor, TARDIS, and K-9 figure. However, in the game, all the various Doctors were available to play as well. But to date, Lego has never done a solo Doctor Who games with its own self-contained story. So the possibilities are truly exciting if this rumor turns out to be true.

According to the report on Reddit. There will be lots of victorian era levels in the game. Might this mean a reunion for The Doctor and Queen Victoria perhaps? Who knows. We’ll have to wait and see if this rumor pans out. But until then. We advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt, but also enjoy the chance to speculate a little.
