May The Verse Be With You brings you “Trev”, a tribute to the wonderful Trevor Slattery. Ben Kingsley helped make a truly memorable supporting star! The MCU has quite a few, but Trev is truly special. His latest MCU appearance is in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), which we reviewed recently. You can still go and see him in cinemas now, so be sure not to miss out!
He terrorised America,
fooled Iron Man so easily –
he called himself “The Mandarin” –
his name is Trevor Slattery!
He threatened all with human bombs,
his reputation quickly grew:
but it was just theatrical
although nobody had a clue
That persona so hostile,
sunglasses hiding “deathly eyes”;
that voice so dark and menacing;
a truly well-acted disguise
Horse-mounted monkeys amazed him,
but he never got to stage school . . .
Outside of acting, his true skill:
without trying he plays the fool!
We found out he’s really not bad
and now we love him forever
But not as much as Morris does –
Trevor, Trevor, Trevor, Trevor!
