She can hide in plain sight! That’s a defining feature of Mystique, a.k.a Raven Darkholme. She’s a much loved character, and “frenemy” of the X Men. What makes the character so interesting is her complex attitudes. She rarely wholly on one side or another. Perhaps that could feature heavily if we ever do actually get one of these five X Men big-screen comic-book storyline adaptations we’d love to see.
Plain Sight
Mystique can turn
so easily;
the lesson don’t
trust all you see
Her own blue skin
hides in plain sight;
her other skill —
she can’t half fight!
She fight X-Men,
and then she’s gone
But has she stayed
and is she one?
Her real self
she masks so well
But life this way
is living hell!
You’d never know
she’s in disguise
unless you see
her yellow eyes!

One thing that’s likely is we’ll see Mystique again, in the MCU. Our feature about a potential “Foxverse” discusses certain X-Men characters. Whether that will be Jennifer Lawrence, or indeed even Rebecca Romijn, we’ll have to wait to see. Or, it may be a new person playing the role.
