There’s been speculation for years that cult classic, Quantum Leap is being rebooted – Oh Boy!. It would be amazing to see the legend that is Doctor Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) return. But, if we never do, then at least you can now enjoy this poem. There seemed to be no better way to immortalize a truly brilliant character than to use the show’s catchphrase? So, here it is! Go on, take a leap of faith . . .

“Oh Boy”

Sam entered the experiment,

and so, mission ahoy!

When he arrived as someone else

he first declared “oh boy . . .”,

Once they’d fixed what they needed to

Al and Sam jumped for joy

But straight away he leaped again

and poor Sam groaned – “Oh boy!”.

So many places, people, times,

many a plan, or ploy

to get broken lives back on track

and then cry out, “oh boy!”.

Sam tried desperately to get home,

but he could not destroy

the endless loop of leaps, so so,

oh boy, oh boy, oh boy . . .

Some time ago, SciFiPulse wrote about Quantum Leap’s two stars reuniting on screen. Whether “Al” would come out of retirement (Dean Stockwell no longer works) would surely be key, if the show rebooted with the original two main stars. Anything else just wouldn’t seem right. One thing’s certain: no leaping back to fix this show – it was superb as it was! Take care, see you next week.
