A silver song is the first May The Verse Be With You of the New Year. It’s of course a tribute to the awesome (and terrifying) Cybermen. They’ve long been the official second enemy of The Doctor. With the upcoming 60th Anniversary of Doctor Who, we’re likely to see baddies. Whether the Cybermen appear remains to be seen . . .
All emotions,
purged completely,
to them is how
we’re all made free
They’re the only
race that matters,
and so all else
lie in tatters
When they turn up,
there’re screams of fright
terror brought by
the silver blight!
Somehow they find
ways to return
always with an
intent to burn
They arrive in
a deadly throng;
delete, delete – their
silver song!

Surely fifteenth Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, will face the dreaded Cybermen at some point. Every Doctor seems to at some point! There are many awesome storylines featuring them, both from the classic era and the modern era, too. Perhaps ‘A Silver Song’ would be a good name for an episode, or an arc!
