As further proof with regards to plans for an upcoming second season for CBS’s Supergirl, Entertainment Weekly and themarysue.com recently reported on two executive producers second season plans to bring Lynda Carter on in a very unique supporting role.
The executive producers in question are Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, with both confirming that Carter was to initially have appeared in the first season but could not ultimately do so due to scheduling conflicts.
Berlanti however went on to say, “All right, she’s the female President of the United States.”
This comes after the CBS CEO, Les Moonves recently said the following at the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet and Telecom conference, “We have five new shows on this year. Of those five, I believe all five of them will be renewed, and we own four of them.”
We can only wonder what other celebrity cameos await fans of Supergirl’s upcoming second season!
At this particular point in time CBS has not ‘Officially’ confirmed or denied that a second season of ‘Supergirl’ is forthcoming, although this writer firmly believes the proverbial cat has been let out of the ‘Super’ bag. Watch for further news on the show as and when it becomes available right here on Sci Fi Pulse.
“plans to bring Lynda Carter on in a very unique supporting role” is not the same as someone being cast, nor is it evidence of a renewal.
Every show creator talks about what they’d do in a second season during their first regardless of renewals or nor.
Personally Nick. Although there has not been an official confirmation as yet. I highly suspect one is coming, but also think there will be a twist such as less episodes or the series being renewed to accompany ‘Star Trek’ on the new CBS ACCESS. I’m actually thinking of launching a special impromptu google hangout to discuss the merits and down sides of some of stuff that’s coming out. Its almost as if Berlanti and co are leaking stuff out in order to lobby fan support and what better way than a potential recurring role for Lynda Carter.
