Synopsis: The Guardians look to try and lift Peter Quills spirits by throwing him a special Christmas Celebration. However, first, they need Earth’s greatest hero Kevin Bacon.

The Story

When Kraglin tells Drax and Mantis about how a young Peter Quill tried to bring the celebration of Christmas to Yondu’s crew of Ravagers. Mantis feels sorry for him and as his sister she feels responsible for his happiness. To that end, she persuades Drax to go with her to Earth on a mission to find Kevin Bacon.

When the two arrive on Earth much chaos ensues as they make a shedload of money taking photos with tourists who think they are cosplayers. From there they go to a bar and get very drunk before finding out where Kevin Bacon lives and abducting him.

The Acting

This Holiday special truly belongs to Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff who put in a show-stopping performance as Drax and Mantis who have some truly comedic adventures as they go on the hunt for Kevin Bacon. Obviously, Kevin Bacon puts in a game performance as himself and manages to do a pretty impressive Dick Van Dyke impression when Mantis hypnotizes him into acting like a hero. Only in this case, Bacon decides to put on a dodgy Cockney accent as he dons the persona of a British private in world war II.

Of course, Chris Pratt and the rest of the Guardians cast are on hand. But it’s Bautista and Kementieff along with Bacon that gets a majority of the screen time in this.
