The Story
Picking up from where last week left off. Nora/Speedforce has managed to catch up with The Still Force and has talked him into joining her to go against Barry. Meanwhile, back at Star labs. Barry and the team are trying to teach Alexa/Strenghforce how to control her powers. Elsewhere, Iris’s investigative journalism proves useful in helping to track down Psyche who has been attacking prominent billionaires.
Joe has a tough decision to make as he finds out that Kramer is still looking to bend the rule of law so she can pursue her vendetta against Meta-Humans. Meanwhile, Cisco wrestles with the idea of a career change and a possible move to Miami.
The Acting
‘Family Matters’ part one has its fair share of decent acting performances and the episode title proves to be very appropriate. We get a great performance from Carlos Valdes this week as we see Cisco wrestle with the idea of leaving his Star Labs family for a new life in Miami. The scene he shares with his onscreen girlfriend Kamilla (Victoria Park) fits quite snugly into the episode narrative.
We also see a solid performance from Ennis Esmer as Bashir Malik/Psych as he follows his vendetta against some of the billionaires of Central City. Indeed, Central City seems to have a lot of Billionaires.
Overall
Not a bad episode but not great either. I think this series is slowly coming to that time where it is starting to outlive its welcome. As its become too formulaic and needs a major kick up the butt. Not that the episode was awful or anything like that. It was just an ok episode. I may be getting a bit of Flash Fatigue.
