Synopsis: In Chapter Six of Summer School. Cindy and her new team make their move against the JSA, leading to an epic showdown.
Having gathered her new team together in last week’s show. Cindy and the new Injustice Society proceed on a mission to bait Courtney and the JSA into a showdown. Firstly they hospitalize Pat and then they kidnap Mike.
Little do they all know. That this battle royale is all a part of Eclipso’s elaborate plan.
This episode is pretty much a big win for the show’s villains. Nick E. Tarabay is set free in full make-up as Eclipso. And to say this is one of the edgier villains that we have seen on the show would be an understatement. It’s the sort of role that Tarabay specializes in and much like everything he is in. He projects a real presence that carries through the screen.
Also, really good this week was Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman. I especially enjoyed the scene where she takes Mike as her prisoner. But I am also a little disappointed that she didn’t use Mike’s insecurity as a means of corrupting and recruiting him into her team.
A really strong episode, which has some awesome fight sequences in it. I particularly enjoyed the visual effects of the sound waves coming from Issacs Violin. I also liked the visual of Stargirl’s staff as it touched the black diamond and unleashed Eclipso. Additionally, the Eclipse was nicely done and pretty convincing.
Overall chapter six is a fantastic episode with a lot of action and some shock twists as we see just how evil Eclipso is. We get left with more questions than we do answers. The biggest of which is how in the hell is Stargirl and the JSA going to defeat this guy?
