Synopsis: Hera leads a courageous attack against the forces of Grand Admiral Thrawn, but when things go awry, her battle to win must become a daring escape if she is to survive.
Review: Hera leads a team of X-Wing fighters to smash through Admiral Thrawn’s defenses in order to create a passage for a Y-Wing assault on the Empires Fuel and Munitions depot on the surface of Lothal. Helping from the ground are Ezra, Kanan, and Sabine who successfully take down the Empires ground defenses, but Thrawn having planned ahead manages to throw a spanner in the works, which allows Governor Price a chance at capturing the rebels.
This is a great episode to break on until the second half of the season comes back at some point in 2018.
It’s an episode that has plenty of action with some impressive dogfighting between Hera’s X-Wing pilots of the Empire as well as some great sequences on the ground. I especially enjoyed Hera playing chicken with Thrawn’s Star Destroyer in order to force him to open fire upon her and the pursuing Tie Fighter that was doggedly on her tail.
The ground assault was pretty much by the numbers for Ezra and his team, but upon seeing Hera’s ships taken out of the sky. Kanan is determined to go back and attempt to rescue Hera. We see some more from the mysterious Loth Wolf, which has a strange connection to Kanan and is continually saying a word, which sounds very much like Doom.
We get left with an awesome cliffhanger, which is going to have fans anxiously awaiting the shows return so we can see how things play out. No matter what. We already know that Hera lives through the Rebels series because we hear her name mentioned a couple of times in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars’ story. It’s just a matter of how she gets from this point in rebels to make it to the battle for the Death Star plans, which we witnessed in Rogue One.
Added to that. We also want to know the fates of all the other characters that we have followed throughout this series. Could the Loth Wolf be warning Kanan that he has little time left or something like that? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
