Synopsis: In Far, Far Away, The search for Grand Admiral Thrawn reaches beyond the limits of the galaxy to a distant world called Peridea.
The Story
Far, Far Away kicks off with a brief scene of Ahsoka sharing her concerns over Sabine Wren with Huyang. Ahsoka does not like the fact that Sabine went with Baylan Skoll willingly because she is so desperate to find Ezra. After this brief scene, we cut to Morgan Elsbeth, Baylon Skoll, Shin Hati, and Sabine Wren arriving on Peridea where Elsbeth is greeted by three Nightsisters who have been preparing the way for Grand Admiral Thrawn’s arrival. Of course, the Nightsisters are not impressed by the fact that Elsbeth and her party have brought with them a Jedi prisoner in the form of Sabine Wren and they immediately have her locked up.
When Thrawn arrives in a giant Star Destroyer that has seen better days. He immediately asks The Nightsisters to release Sabine and proceeds to free her so that she can go and find Ezra Bridger. As soon as Sabine is sent on her way. Thrawn then orders Baylon Skoll and Shin Hati to follow Sabine and kill both her and Ezra should Sabine find him. Thrawn is basically intent on leaving Sabine and her pursuers behind as he, Elsbeth, and the three Nightsisters set about leaving Peridea to move forward with their goal of rebuilding The Empire.
The Acting
Lars Mikkelsen makes an impressive live-action debut as Grand Admiral Thrawn and is immediately believable as the cold and calculating character that fans have come to know and love. His lack of concern about Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) is brilliantly played out. As is his general sense of calmness with all that is going on.
We also get to see Eman Esfandi give his live-action debut as Ezra Bridger in a reunion scene that fans have been waiting about 5 years for. Esfandi does a solid job of portraying the confidence of Ezra, which is a quality that fans most appreciate about the character.
Overall
Far, Far Away does a solid job of setting up the threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn and reuniting Sabine Wren with Ezra Bridger. And with only two episodes left. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
