Synopsis: Ben takes on the role of a bank teller in the wrong place at the wrong time during a dangerous armed robbery. Addison, Magic, Ian, and Jenn come to terms with a shocking discovery. The team adds a new member.

The Story

Picking up from last week. Ben has just found out that the Quantum Leap program was shut down when his team failed to find him. Although three years has passed for his team. Time has passed more slowly for Ben. Having found Ben and figured out how to re-establish the link with him. Ian brings the team back together but hits a snag when it comes to Addison who has moved on with some new dude called Tom because she thought Ben had died. Meanwhile, Ben’s new leap sees him in the body of a 70-year-old woman who is a Bank Teller who has wound up caught in the middle of a bank robbery, which killed 8 people in the original timeline. Tasked with saving their lives Ben has to work with Ian and some glitchy holographic technology in order to get through the leap and save as many people as he can.

The Acting

Mason Alexander Park puts in a solid performance this week as we see Ian bring the entire team back together, which is no easy task given that it’s been over a year since they were last all together. The scenes that Ian has with Ben (Raymond Lee) have a different energy to them, which makes for an interesting dynamic. This is made especially more dramatic given that Ian is not really able to tell Ben everything that has been happening during the three years that Ben has missed.

Overall

A pretty good episode in which the plot is set in the present day where the team is coming back together after having gone their separate ways made for more interesting drama than the bank heist that Ben was managing in the past. The new character of Tom makes an interesting addition to the team and looks like he could cause some romantic tension moving forward given his relationship with Addison, but whether or not will make for interesting drama as yet remains to be seen. The scene at the close of the episode when Addison reconnects with Ben pretty much sums this season up thus far. In that, I’m not sure where it is going and neither is Ben and Addison by looks of it.
