The Echo of Lost Tears

Synopsis: In ‘The Echo of Lost Tears’. Carson, Ryan and the Drew Crew work together to help Nancy get rid of the wraith that has clung to her.

The Story

Having learned that she has been carrying a wraith in last week’s show. Nancy and her friends begin to investigate ways of getting rid of it. But things are not as simple as they appear. In order to separate the wraith from Nancy. The team must first learn of the wraith’s origins, which in and of itself is a big revelation that is connected to the Hudson family.

Elsewhere, Ryan and Carson look at ways of legally protecting Nancy from any plans of revenge that Everrett may have. Their plan involves Ryan signing a document that gives Carson retroactive custody as Nancy’s legal Guardian.

The Acting

‘The Echo of Lost Tears’ has a few solid acting performances from all the main cast. Kennedy McMann does a great job of conveying the physical and emotional toll that the wraith is having on Nancy. Furthermore, we get some nice moments from Leah Lewis as George especially when she is transitioning between George and the spirit of Odette Lamar.

Bo Martynowska makes a strong impression as Temperance Hudson who we’ll be seeing much more off in the show’s third season.

Overall

This proved to be a fairly decent season finale for what has been a somewhat strange season due to the restrictions that Covid has had on the production and how that has impacted the various character and story arcs.

I really enjoyed the reveal of Temperance Hudson and how that tied into the origin of the wraith that was feeding on Nancy’s trauma. I also quite enjoyed how the story went about discussing Nancy’s trauma and the way in which Nancy has to choose to accept it as a part of her. The scenes where Nancy is walking around in the shadowy world created by her wraith were all very well done. Specifically, the moments where she has to confront the various versions of herself. That said though. I was not overly keen on the part where Ace leans in to kiss her. Not that I’m against romance or anything like that. I just can’t really see Ace and Nancy as a couple and hope that this is not something they are going to follow up on.
