Synopsis: In Death’s Hand In Mine, Those remaining suffer the hand they are dealt in the next trial.

The Story

Agatha and Billy Maximoff engage in a deadly game of Tarot, which will show the path they must walk. Billy somehow uses his magic to bring Lillia and Jeffifer back to help with the latest obstacle that they face on the Witches Road. A deadly road in which someone will pay the ultimate price.

The Acting

Both Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke put in a solid performance as we see both Agatha and Billy in full costume. Agatha is dressed much like the witch from The Wizard of Oz while Billy is wearing a take on the costume worn by Maleficent. We also get solid supporting performances from Sasheer Zamata and Patti LuPone as Jennifer and Lilia. Lupone is particularly good as Lilia who plays a quite important role in this story.

Overall

Death’s Hand in Mine does a great job of building on the lot threads that were left hanging from last week’s episode. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Billy and Agatha had to summon up a spell to bring Jennifer and Lilia back to help them. The scene where Billy tells Lilia that he didn’t know he had magic was a particularly nice moment.

I loved the costumes and seeing Agatha and Billy dressed as two of the most iconic movie witches of all time was great fun. I particularly enjoyed Agatha’s line where she says the movie Witch from The Wizard of Oz was inspired by her.

Overall a fun episode with a lot of fun nods to the famous movie Witches and Hollywood’s take on Witchcraft. We get lots of good character moments and some fun reveals as well as further twists that we’ll hopefully see get paid off in next week’s finale.
