Welcome to the high speed companion to… The IndieNet and Beyond! While on IndieNet and Beyond we focus on interviews and spotlighting specific web series and independent creator projects, in High Speed IndieNet we give you a fast overview of news and videos you should check out on the web.
Attack Of The Trailers
Everybody loves trailers. They tease us of something coming soon that makes a great piece look good or a bad piece look good. So here are trailers to upcoming web series and films that caught my eye. Will they be good or bad?
H+ | Comic-Con Trailer
H+: The Digital Series is an upcoming web series brought to us by producer Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2 , X-Men : First Class, Superman Returns).
L.A. Paranormal – Trailer

The LXD: Season 3 Trailer
The LXD is back! The League of Extraordinary Dancers is part superhero, part music (crazy dance) video. This series has an original story packed with beautiful cinematography and choreography. Check out the trailer for season 3 and if you like that, you can watch the first two episodes of the new season by scrolling further down. Sorry to our non-United States readers—Hulu has it geoblocked.
The Brothers Barbarian – Trailer
The Brothers Barbarian is a new fantasy comedy series guest starring fantasy artist Larry Elmore and writer Margaret Weis (Dragonlance, The Death Gate Cycle). It is about two teenage barbarian brothers turned into middle-aged men by an evil witch’s spell who set out on a quest to restore their lost youth.
Border Guardians Of Ackernon – Trailer
Is it just me or have the number of D&D type fantasy web series increased dramatically over the last year? I’m curious to learn more about this one.
Elsewhere On The Web and Beyond
Award This!
We’ve been watching what the web series award situation after the International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV) parted ways with Tubefilter on The Streamy Awards after negative reviews of the 2nd annual awards show. The IAWTV announced its a partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association to hold the inaugural IAWTV Awards at the 2012 International CES. And now, Tubebfilter has joined forces with Dick Clark Productions for the 3rd annual Streamy Awards.
It will be interesting to see how both shows turn out and if they will help make web series more mainstream.
Reality Check
The web series that I directed/co-wrote/co-produced, Reality On Demand, is deep into post-production. We spread the word at Gen Con Indy about Reality On Demand.
In fact, Kate Bolin (one of our camera operators and photographers), Brian Bolin (graphic designer – who made a cool poster for the series), and I walked around in Reality On Demand t-shirts while handing out business cards and answering questions about the show.
We have also released a new teaser poster.

Haywire, one of the first web series the IndieNet and Beyond featured, is back with another new episode. The task force reaches the perimeter and encounters a Haywired hunter.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy – Ep. 9: Cyrax & Sektor
It’s a new episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy and we get introduced to Cyrax and Sektor. Sadly, this is the season finale. Will there be more?
“Cyrax and Sektor are chosen to be the future of the Lin Kuei by the Grand Master, but Cyrax is less than enthusiastic about giving his life over to a cybernetic transformation that will erase his memories and turn him into the ultimate fighting machine. When he discovers that the cyborg he is fighting seems closely familiar, Sektor must keep Cyrax focused on destroying Hydro, and not himself or their future…”
