‘Doctor Who’ To Bring Us Huge Zygon Cliffhanger

The Zygon two parter is to be written by Peter Harness, whose previous 'Doctor Who' writing credits include 'Kill The Moon'.

As previously reported the Zygons are making a return to ‘Doctor Who’ and the two part episode, which they will headline also features the return of Osgood.

The Zygon two parter is to be written by Peter Harness, whose previous ‘Doctor Who’ writing credits include ‘Kill The Moon’.

“It’s a bit unbelievable to be bringing [the Zygons] back again – and also Osgood as well, another fan favourite,” he told Digital Spy.

“It’s a privilege to be telling a story about those two, and I think it’s quite an exciting story as well. Unfortunately I’ve got two fan favourites in my hands now, which can only set me up to disappoint people!”

The ninth series of the revived ‘Doctor Who’ series, which will be the second series for new Doctor Peter Capaldi is to bring back the two part format, which was last used with Colin Baker’s Doctor during the mid 1980s.

“It’s nice to do a cliffhanger,” said Harness. “And I tried to do the biggest cliffhanger I possibly could.”

Fans will have to wait a few months yet to find out what peril he’s invented for the Doctor and Clara (Jenna Coleman) – with Doctor Who set to return to BBC One in the autumn.
