Isaac Rouse and Charlotte McBurney lead Big Finish’s full-cast adaptation of Charlie Higson’s bestselling Young Bond novel.
Big Finish Productions has unveiled the lead cast for its upcoming adaptation of Charlie Higson’s Young Bond: SilverFin, with Isaac Rouse taking on the role of the teenage James Bond.
Joining him is Charlotte McBurney, who has been cast as Bond’s friend and ally Wilder Lawless. The pair will headline the first audio adaptation of Higson’s hugely popular novel, which follows a thirteen-year-old James Bond during his first term at Eton College.
Originally published in 2005, SilverFin marked the beginning of Higson’s acclaimed Young Bond series, exploring the formative years of Ian Fleming’s iconic secret agent long before he earned his licence to kill.
The adaptation has been written and directed by Barnaby Edwards, with Charlie Higson serving as a creative consultant. The production will be released as a 16-part full-cast audio drama across two box sets, with the first instalment arriving in October 2026.
Producer Kirsty Burrows said the casting process focused on finding actors capable of capturing the youthful energy and determination that made Higson’s interpretation of Bond so compelling.
Isaac Rouse said he was thrilled to be taking on such an iconic role.
“I’m incredibly excited to be playing James Bond. It’s an honour to step into the shoes of such a legendary character and explore his early years. I can’t wait for listeners to hear this new adventure.”
Charlotte McBurney added that she was delighted to be joining the production and looked forward to bringing Wilder Lawless to life for fans of the novels.
SilverFin marks the latest collaboration between Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications, expanding the world of James Bond through audio drama while introducing a new generation of listeners to Bond’s earliest adventures.
The first box set of Young Bond: SilverFin is scheduled for release in October 2026, with the concluding episodes following in a second box set.
