Synopsis: While Fitz and Enoch struggle in space, Sarge and his team move forward with their mysterious mission on Earth.
Review: We begin to get a few clues about Sarge and his team.
The Story
Shell shocked from having seen how Sarge is an exact likeness of Agent Coulson. Mack and his team move forward with a degree of caution so they can ascertain what kind of threat Sarge and his team pose. While Shield is trying to track them down. Sarge and his people go on a mighty crime spree in order to try and find a much-needed energy source.
Meanwhile, in deep, deep space Fitz and Enoch find themselves at the mercy of a very cruel individual and conspire to see him off.
The Acting
Clark Gregg is absolutely fantastic as Sarge. I loved the scenes during the various jobs that he and his team go on where he tells the poor store clerk or whoever to basically not try and be a hero. The absolute charm with which Gregg delivers his dialogue puts me in mind of an old highwayman.
Iain De Caestecker puts in a pretty solid performance as Fitz, but I don’t think we have seen the best of Fitz thus far this season.
Barry Shabaka Henley is proving to be a fun addition to the cast as Dr. Marcus Benson.
Overall
This was a fairly average episode designed to do nothing much than advance the story a little without giving a great deal away. We do find out that Sarge is an exact DNA Match to Agent Coulson and we also get a bit of a hint as to what Sarge’s mission is, but what we don’t have as yet is the motivation for it all.
Ming-Na Wen has some awesome fight scenes in this episode in which she takes on Sarge’s team and pretty much holds her own. I look forward to seeing how things pan out in the weeks to come. But sadly this episode is not likely to be the strongest one that we’ll see.
