Zoe Saldana Signs Up For ‘I Kill Giants’

Saldana will head up the films cast and the movie will be directed by Anders Walter, who won an Oscar for his short 'Helium'.

‘Star Trek’s’ Zoe Saldana has signed up for a leading role in the movie adaptation of the Graphic Novel ‘I Kill Giants’.

The movie, which is being produced by Chris Columbus is an adaptation of a novel by Joe Kelly.

Saldana will head up the films cast and the movie will be directed by Anders Walter, who won an Oscar for his short ‘Helium’. The film has also found a rising star in its young lead actress Madison Wolfe.

Giants tells the story of a young misfit girl named Barbara battling both real and imaginary monsters in her life.

Wolfe will play the girl, while Saldana is a school psychologist who plays a key role by helping Barbara face both internal and external threats, forming an inspiring bond with her in the process.

The award winning graphic novel on which the film is based was penned by Joe Kelly with artist Ken Niimura. Kelly also wrote the screenplay for the movie.

Columbus is producing through his 1492 Pictures/Ocean Blue Entertainment, along with Justin Nappi of Treehouse Pictures, Kim Magnusson and Man of Action Entertainment, where Kelly is a partner.

Saldana is already one this decade’s genre queens, starring in Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar and Star Trek movies. She is repped by ICM Partners and Morris Yorn.
