Baker (who played the beloved Fourth Doctor between from 1974 to 1981 on the BBC series) plays the Bendu, who is described as a “large, wise and bull-like creature” that is strong with the Force but is neither a Jedi nor an evil Sith but is rather in-between. The character is said to become important to Kanan’s (Freddie Prinze Jr.) journey, Ezra’s (Taylor Gray) Jedi master and a member of the fledgling Rebel Alliance, who has been blinded by Darth Maul (Sam Witwer) during the Season 2 finale.
Here’s what Baker told USA Today about his character:
“The Bendu is described as a “life force,” which is something we haven’t really seen before in Star Wars. He’s not the dark side or the light — he’s something greater.”
