There has been no end of great Mandalorian news in recent weeks. As we have seen stories about Rosario Dawson’s guesting in the season as the first live-action Ahsoka Tano, Temuera Morrison reprising Boba Fett, and Katee Sackhoff reprising Bo Katan for the hit series. So it would be fair to say that the show is spoiling us with some great casting and preparing us for what could well be an even better second series.
But there is more.
A new scoop coming from The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that ‘Deadwood’ alum Timothy Olyphant will join the cast in what has been described as a mystery role. It is unclear if he will be playing an established ‘Star Wars’ character or a new character, but whatever role he gets. We can be pretty confident that he’ll give it his all.

JUSTIFIED: Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens. CR: Mark Seliger/ FX
Olyphant began his acting career in the 1990s when he appeared as the antagonistic Mickey Altieri in the hit 1997 slasher film ‘Scream 2’. From there he went onto gain critical plaudits for his role of Sheriff Seth Bullock in the hit HBO series ‘Deadwood’. Since ‘Deadwood’ he has enjoyed various roles, which include the lead role of Raylan Givens in the hit series ‘Justified’ as well as Joel Hammond on ‘Santa Clarita Diet’. He’s also enjoyed roles in other movies and TV shows, which include ‘Hitman’, ‘Snowden’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, ‘The Grinder’ and ‘Fargo’.
Based on this actor’s CV. My guess is that he’ll likely play an antagonistic type of role. Maybe another Bounty Hunter or even a former Clone Trooper. There is all manner of possible roles in this series for the actor, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to this particular segment of the ‘Star Wars’ universe.
Olyphant is only the latest big name to join ‘The Mandalorian’ and joins Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, Michael Biehn in an undisclosed role and reportedly Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.
