Those pesky illegal down loaders have been at it again…
The return of AMC’s hit series ‘The Walking Dead’ premiered earlier this week and attracted an incredible 1.2 million illegal downloads from the various torrent sites around the worldwide web.
The midseason premier episode was downloaded an incredible 1.29 million times within 20 hours of its US transmission.
The information was released by piracy-tracking firm Excipio.
The Zombie centred show had previously attracted 1.27m downloads in the first 24 hours with its fifth season premiere. Which is an incredible amount to be sure, but it isn’t the most downloaded show ever.
That title belongs to ‘Game Of Thrones’, which clocked in an impressive 1.86 million for its season premier last year.
These numbers are impressive given that it has become a little more difficult in the UK for people to download off of torrent sites due to the fact that Virgin and many other UK service providers have started to try and block all the big torrent sites in order to deter illegal downloads.
