There is going to be a new superhero coming the MCU and she will make her first appearance in the forthcoming ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
Tesse Thompson who is best known for her recent role in the ‘Rocky’ spin-off movie ‘Creed’ is to play this new hero who will also be a new love interest for Thor. Which makes sense given that Natalie Portman will not be returning for a third stint in the ‘Thor’ universe.
According to Deadline Thompson will get to reprise this role in other MCU movies following on from ‘Thor’.
The two actresses will, however, be seen together in Alex Garland’s Annihilation, with Thompson shooting that film before Thor: Ragnarok.
What We Do In The Shadows‘ Taika Waititi is directing the film, which will see Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, AKA The Hulk, join forces with Thor.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ could also mark the final MCU outing for Tom Hiddleston as Loki and will see the return of Jaimie Alexander’s Sif, as well as a potential MCU debut for Cate Blanchett.
Stellan Skarsgard’s Dr Eric Selvig, however, definitely WON’T be in the movie, set to start shooting in Australia in June.
‘Thor: Ragnarok’ will be released on November 3, 2017.
