As we have been hearing for months now. The new ‘Star Wars’ movie, which is the seventh chapter in the George Lucas series of movies is to focus heavily on Han Solo, who once again is to be played by Harrison Ford, who has not only mastered standing upright, but now has a much better understanding of doors.
Joking aside we think its great to see our favorite antihero back in the mix on ‘Star Wars’ and much like everyone else we’re exciting to hear about everything to do with the film. Whether it’s news about who is doing the catering to what costume our favorite characters will wear.
As you all know though news coming from the set has been very patching and the films director J.J. Abrams has teased us all a little with little snippets and suggestions, but we haven’t really seen much in regards to what costumes the characters will be wearing or had much information in regards to the films storyline, but inevitably some things have gotten loose from the production and chief among them is some images of what we could see Han Solo wearing in the film.
The folks over at Indie Revolver claim to have a very reliable source close to Star Wars: Episode VII. Hot on the heels of the Stormtrooper images the site shared, they now have two photos of what they believe are character sketches of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in two different outfits.
The first image, which is pictured above looks very similar to what Han wore during the Hoth scenes in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, but with some rank insignia’s added to denote his high standing in the Rebel Alliance. The website adds that while the outfits may look similar to what we have seen in the previous films, J.J. Abrams and his team aren’t married to previous planets that were featured in the previous six Star Wars movies.
To date though Abrams has filmed in Ireland, London and the Abu Dhabi and we also know that Luke Skywalkers home planet of Tatooine will feature as part of the movies backdrop, but we are hopeful that we’ll get to see some new unexplored planets.
The second costume drawing looks quite similar to what was worn in ‘Return Of The Jedi’ on the Moon Planet of Endor.
Indie Revolver claims to have seen multiple sketches of outfits for Han Solo, and notes that “in all of the sketches his belt now has a second holster on his left hip. It’s a mirror image of the one on the right. Will Han wield two guns in his old age?”
That being the case as a fan of the original trilogy. I’d be interested to see what else Indie Revolver has because to be honest the above images look like they could have been knocked up and adapted based on what Han wore in the previous movies. That said though who are we to critique the fashions of an alternative space age culture. Would be good to see something a little different though.
