Star Trek Beyond trailer released ahead of the Force Awakens

The Star Trek Beyond trailer will possibly be featured with the release of the much anticipated Epsiode VII.

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released just days away, Paramount and the producers of Star Trek Beyond have released the new trailer to the third installment of the reimagined Star Trek franchise after a German version of the trailer had apparently been released earlier this week.

All of the new familiar faces can be seen reprising their roles as we see Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Bones, Scotty, Sulu and the rest of the Enterprise crew scattered about after the Enterprise encounters some pretty heavy damage, forcing some kind of evacuation in the midst of interstellar conflict.

As is already quite common knowledge, Justin Lin is directing the third new Trek film, with Idris Elba playing the still unnamed villain, and Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), presumably playing a very fierce yet beautiful, pale skinned and tattooed alien working with the crew of the Enterprise.

The action seems up to par with Lin’s Fast and Furious notoriety and only time will tell if the action holds up to the story which was co-written by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg (Scotty).

Star Trek Beyond is slated to open in theaters July 22, with the trailer beginning to be shown this week and possibly be featured with the release of the much anticipated Star Wars Episode VII.
