This episode also seems to have been a test for the show, which it passed with flying colors.

The most recent episode of Disney’s, Star Wars Rebels, entitled ‘Path of the Jedi’ is an episode worth paying attention to as it is really a major step forward for both the series as well as for its main characters, Padawan Ezra Bridger as played by Taylor Gray, and his Jedi Master, Kanan Jarrus as played by Freddie Prinze Jr.

Path of the Jedi’ deals with what can be one of the most telling if not difficult tests a young padawan and future Jedi must face on his or her road towards mastery of the Force. Like Luke Skywalker before him in Empire Strikes Back, Ezra must face his innermost fears and demons as he confronts that which is most dangerous to a Jedi, fear and the path towards the dark side of the Force.

This episode seems to not only lay the path ahead for Star Wars Rebels, but to also turn a corner for the show, as this episode was clearly an important step and test for Ezra as well as his master Kanon. A test which both Master and Padawan passed with flying colors!

On the one hand, Ezra emerges from the trial with Yoda having told him, “For what lies ahead, ready are you,” along with a new found strength, confidence and inner growth, as well as a kyber crystal, with which the young Jedi apprentice may create and does actually build his own lightsaber with by the end of the episode.

By the same token, this test which is typically for a padawan, was also a path of self-discovery and awareness for Ezra’s Master, as Yoda tells Kanan, “See you I can, before I could not; changed something has.” Clearly Kanan Jarrus is now the Master he never believed he was ready to become.

The galaxy now has two new found heroes who are most definitely ready to help rid the Galaxy of the Evil Empire and fans likewise can enjoy Star Wars Rebels in a new way as well as this episode was also a test for the show, which it has likewise passed with flying colors. Star Wars Rebels is now ready to become a great science fiction show and an important chapter in the lexicon of Star Wars mythos and legend!
