Showtimes Gothic drama series ‘Penny Deadful’, which is set in Victorian London is to jump onto the pages of comic books in 2016, which is when the shows third season will also be unveiled.
Titan Comics here in the UK have claimed the honour of adapting the series to comics and the first issue is expected to arrive sometime in the Spring of next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first book is due in spring 2016; it will feature characters familiar to fans of the show, and will be written by Chris King, Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and Andrew Hinderaker, with art by Louie De Martinis (Heavy Metal).
Titan Comics have developed a reputation in recent years for adapting television and film properties to comics. Most people will know them for the sterling work they have been doing with ‘Doctor Who’ and most recently the company has done a run of comics based on ‘Heroes Reborn’. In terms of movie properties the company has done adaptations of ‘The Black List’ and is set to do a comic book prequel for ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’.
