Director Ridley Scott has finally revealed the title for his sequel to ‘Prometheus’ and its a title that will likely have fans of his original ‘Alien’ film get a wee bit giddy.
While being interviewed to promote his forthcoming film ‘The Martian’ Scott revealed that the title for ‘Prometheus 2.’
“Really it’s going to be called ‘Alien: Paradise Lost,’ so Prometheus 2 it’s not really going to be,” he told Hey You Guys.
With regard to the title’s obvious connection to John Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost, Scott clarified: “It sounds intellectual. There’s a similarity to it, but that’s where it stops.”
The use of the word ‘Alien’ in the movies title is particularly noteworthy because in another recent interview Scott revealed that the the infamous Xenomorph would not likely be seen to the third movie.
“It won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise,” he insisted.
