
Jared Leto, who recently made his mark as The Joker in the recent ‘Suicide Squad’ movie is to join Ryan Gosling in the ‘Blade Runner’ sequel.
The films sequel stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Ana de Armas. Denis Villeneuve is directing the Alcon Entertainment project, which is slated to be released October 6, 2017 via Warner Bros.
The film is set several decades after the original, with Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard. The movie is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick’s novel ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’
Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce along with Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove and Bud Yorkin. Frank Giustra and Tim Gamble, CEOs of Thunderbird Films, will serve as executive producers alongside Ridley Scott and Bill Carraro.
Leto, who also performs as a musician and singer in band Thirty Seconds to Mars, was most recently seen in ‘Suicide Squad’ and won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’.
