In Review: The Shannara Chronicles – Pykon

On the run from the Reaper, Amberle, Wil and Eretria take shelter in an Elven outpost, only to find themselves in mortal peril from the caretaker.

Synopsis: On the run from the Reaper, Amberle, Wil and Eretria take shelter in an Elven outpost, only to find themselves in mortal peril from the caretaker.

Review: Picking up from where last week’s episode left off. Eventine Elessedil King of the Elves is dead and has been replaced by a demon changeling who wastes no time in casting suspicion on the last remaining Druid Allanon.

Meanwhile Commander Tilton and Andor continue their journey with there sworn enemy the Gnome in there attempt to form an alliance with the humans in order to fight the pending demon threat.

Amberle, Wil and Eretria get delayed in their journey when they find Shelter, but find the caretaker less than hospitable. Eretria now is beginning to see the error of her ways and is coming round to committing properly to the fight alongside Amberle and Wil.

Six episodes in and a lot has happened to bring the core group a little closer together, but it would seem that their journey is only really starting as they make the perilous journey to Wilderun.

Jon Brazier puts in a fairly convincing performance as Remo the somewhat unhinged Caretaker, who at one point tortures Amberle with some weird contraption that pulls on her Elven finger nails. Thankfully we were spared to much gore thanks to Wil making a heroic intervention.

This is probably one of the strongest episodes yet.
