In Review: The Shannara Chronicles – Fury

On their way back to Arborlon, Wil and Amberle are kidnapped by Eretria and the Rovers.

Synopsis: On their way back to Arborlon, Wil and Amberle are kidnapped by Eretria and the Rovers. To make matters worse, a Fury demon is hot on their tail.

Review: Picking things up from last weeks epic cliffhanger Wil and Amberle get an injured Allanon to safety and make their way to Arborlon, but Wil is pretty insistent on heading to the silver river in order to try and heal Allanon’s wounds, but this decision proves somewhat disastrous for the two adventurers.

This episode does much to establish some chemistry between Austin Butler and Poppy Drayton as Will and Amberle and we get some fun banter between the two. Amberle consistently teasing Will about ears turning red when he lies.

We also see some pretty good acting from Ivana Baquero as Eretria who once again has a run in with Amberle, but this time comes off as the winner, but only for a brief period of time.  Eretria’s father who is leader of the Rover’s is obsessed with learning the secrets of the Elf Stones and threatens to murder Amberle if Will does not show him how to use them.

All this though proves to be just a pit stop because Allanon recovers from his wounds and saves Will and Amberle so they can continue their journey to Arborlon where Amberle has to address the council about having seen the demons.

This was a pretty strong episode, which did much to establish the two young leads while also giving us a little more insight into Eretria who I hope winds up joining Will and Amberle on their quest. The episode also sees a pretty big development for Will as far as character developments do. So its well worth the watch for that.
