Synopsis: Barry and Iris face the ultimate parenting test when Team Flash battles Spin, a savvy millennial armed with meta tech, and a dangerous agenda for their daughter, Nora. Ralph is feeling defeated until an unlikely source issues a challenge to help boost his confidence.
Review: This episode deals mostly with Nora and the new family dynamic, which has formed since she joined them from the future.
The Story
The episode opens up with Iris making breakfast for the family, but she is still getting the cold shoulder from Nora who is fairly rude about her mother’s somewhat poor cooking efforts. Instead, she is focused on a new news application on her phone, which is operated by an old work colleague of Iris from her days at a newspaper.
Things don’t really get going on this until we learn that Iris’s old workmate is using meta-technology to fool around with peoples brains in order to make them do what she wants. Nora becomes a target of this when she is set up to rescue folk at Barry’s softball game.
Over the course of the story. We find out why Iris has been getting the cold shoulder from Nora, and when Iris says she’d likely have made the same decision as her future self. Nora throws a tantrum and goes off to stay with Pappa Joe.
We also get some more Sherloque Wells this week as he and Ralph figure out some of the mystery behind Cicada’s mask.
Overall
I wasn’t really too invested in this episode because it felt more like a filler episode to me and didn’t really have too much with regards to the overall arc. It also felt like the most soap operish episode of ‘The Flash’ thus far this season.
The reveal about why Nora has been giving Iris the cold shoulder was interesting.
Overall. A rather average episode.
