Synopsis: Believing they are better without her, Ahsoka makes a deal to free the Martez sisters and soon attempts her own escape, but she is left reeling from the discovery of the true mastermind behind the Pyke spice operation.
Ahsoka makes a deal with the Pyke in order to free the Martez sisters who then decide to go back to Kessel and steal some Spice to bring back to the Pyke. While Trace and Raffa do their thing. Ahsoka is able to get out of her cell and do a little investigating to find out what the Pyke is up too. Her efforts are soon rewarded when she witnesses a meeting with the Pyke crime boss and Darth Maul who is dealing with them as the leader of Crimson Dawn, an organization that we first heard mention of in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’.
While this is all going on. Ahsoka is being carefully monitored by a small group of Mandalorians, who plan to make use of her services.
The Voice Acting
Katee Sackhoff makes a bit of a splash as former Mandalorian terrorist group leader Bo-Katan who has been following Ahsoka. We also get a nice brief appearance from Darth Maul who is once again voiced by the brilliant Sam Witwer.
Brigitte Kali Canales and Elizabeth Rodriguez also get some great stuff to do as the Martez sisters. One of the best moments being when Trace plays chicken with one of the Pyke ships towards the close of the episode.
With much of the character work done on the Martez sisters. It was good to see them let loose and allowed to stand on their own feet in a solo adventure, which provides some fun moments and nice action beats. It also allowed for Ahsoka to do her Jedi thing and basically learn more about what the Pyke crime syndicate is up too.
Things are brought nicely together by the close of the episode when an attempted rescue of Ahsoka by the Martez sisters goes a little wrong but gives Ahsoka a little time to capitalize on the interruption and facilitate an escape for herself and the Martez sisters. The revelation of Ahsoka being a Jedi was a really nice moment and hopefully leaves the door open for Trace and Raffa to appear again before the series is through. Bo-Katan’s entrance at the close of the episode is well-timed and has a great impact. I look forward to seeing how this all plays out in next week’s episode.
