Synopsis: In Not From Space, You’re listening to a news/talk radio station on the day aliens arrive. Soon you begin to suspect the owner of the station is manipulating events for his own gain.

The Story

The story is told through the medium of a radio broadcast that is reporting on various events including an assassination attempt on Microsoft founder Bill Gates as well as an Alien’s first contact with Earth via President Clinton. Both of these story arcs are told via a series of live radio broadcasts from a fake radio station called World Slash Radio which includes a unique series of adverts, which include a new drink called Dairy Cola, An airline called Menace Airlines and a bunch of other hilarious fake adverts.

Voice Acting

The cast do a brilliant job on this production, which very much satirizes the chaos of a live radio broadcast while also illustrating how easy it is to sell people some fake news. Had I not known any better and did not have a degree of critical thinking. I might well of been convinced by this had it been a live radio broadcast. Jeffrey Michael Bays does a great job of voicing the roles of Jim Thomas, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Tom Brokaw, and all of the listener calls. I thought his Bill Gates was the real deal for a moment.

Robert Clotworthy who is better known for his presenting on History Channels, Ancient Aliens and The Curse of Oak Island does the introduction for Not From Space.

Emmy Winning news Anchor Tom Mustin gets to do the voice of World Slash Radios White House Correspondent and is very convincing in that role.

All the cast do brilliant work on this Audio drama.

Overall

Not From Space was originally released back in 2003 where it had a regular spot on SiriusXM before it found its way onto iTunes and Spotify. The story cleverly unfolds over a series of radio news broadcasts that are sandwiched between a live baseball game and a plethora of really funny adverts. Menace Airlines is a particular favorite of mine. If you had this on in the background in a department store or something. It might trick some people into thinking it was a real broadcast. It’s all very cleverly edited together.

Overall. This was hilarious. I’m still busting a gut.
