Synopsis: While Nancy and the Drew Crew follow up on the latest Lucy Sable lead, they also work to uncover who tried to kill Ryan, leading them to a startling revelation.

Review: This episode leaves off with one hell of a cliffhanger.

The Story

Nancy, Nick, and Georgie follow up a lead on Lucy Sable’s murder, which takes them to a hospital, which is haunted. Having read her mother’s records about Lucy. Nancy believes that Lucy’s mum who is a patient at the hospital may hold the keys to solving her murder.

Elsewhere, Carson’s life is in danger due to the fact that Everet Hudson put a hit on him out of retaliation for Nancy having gotten him arrested. Knowing that his life is in imminent danger Carson calls Ace and asks him to get a message out to Nancy. Instead Ace hacks into the department of justice in order to get Drew transferred to state prison, but this is only so Ace can break Carson out by posing as a prison employee.

Beth finally gets to meet her mentor and makes a good impression when she does a deal with Ryan Hudson, which may save Carson’s life.

The Acting

Scott Wolf gives us a great portrayal of a genuinely panicked Carson Drew while Alex Saxon provides us with a few more layers to Ace’s character. I was also impressed with Maddison Jaizani who continues to walk that fine line between comedy and drama as Bess  Marvin. The scene in which she meets her mentor for the first time is funny and Jaizani portrays the awkwardness of the situation bloody brilliantly.

This was a wonderful episode with a nice mix of comedy, drama and some genuinely spooky stuff happening. Nancy and her friends breaking into a hospital, which happens to be haunted made for an entertaining hour of television, but the cliffhanger ending will have likely sent people’s blood pressure through the roof. Overall a fantastic episode.
