Synopsis: May finally faces her past. Duvall and Shaw follow traces of Godzilla and Hiroshi. Tim agrees to help Cate and Kentaro find May.

The Story

Having fallen out with May in last week’s episode. Cate and Kentaro get a little worried when May doesn’t return to them and goes off on her own. Fortunately, Tim who has been tracking Cate and Kentaro from the start comes on the scene and offers his assistance in finding May and also tells them about who May is and gives them an indication of the trouble she may be in. In some flashback sequences, we learn that May whose real name is Cora worked for a corporate technology company called AET, which was working on a neuro interface to help disabled people to walk again. However, when Cora learned that the interface and her code were being tested on animals. She destroyed it and ran away to Japan where she met Kentaro. In the present, May AKA Cora returns to AET and makes a deal to have her past transgressions forgiven. The deal involves her reconnecting with Kentaro, Cate, and Tim and essentially learning as much as she can about Godzilla and the Titans via Tim, Cate, and Kentaro’s connection to Monarch.

Elsewhere, Shaw and Duvall set about their mission, which takes them to Alaska and the location of the Titan that attacked them all a few episodes back.

The Acting

Kiersey Clemons puts in a fantastic performance this week as we see her character deal with some very difficult choices. One of which sees her having to once again deceive Kentaro and Cate to make good on her deal with AET. We also get a solid performance from Joe Tippett as we see Tim finally gain some trust from Kentaro and Cate.

Overall

Another solid episode that gives us some backstory for a key character but also provides us with a little insight into what Shaw’s agenda has been all along. Or does it?

We also get some insight into Monarch and Tim’s relationship with them and we also see some new tension as AET enters into the fray as a potential thorn in Monarch’s side.
