Synopsis: May races to find the truth about what happened to her, while Aida’s next move could mean the death of them all.
Review: A lot is happening in this episode and none of it is good for Shield.
First off Aida’s program to keep the real Agent May occupied seems to be running out of steam.
While back at Shield Coulson and the team go on the offensive, but it is against the advice of Talbot who on this occasion winds up genuinely having the interest of Shield at heart.
As Coulson’s plan comes into effect. It very quickly becomes apparent that there is a leak at Shield, which has tipped Senator Nadeer off, which leads to the capture of Yo Yo and Coulson.
Meanwhile the duplicate of Agent May confronts Radcliffe about why she has been created and also asks how much of her is the real agent may. This very quickly leads to Fitz’s realisation that Radcliffe has been working against shield for some time, but it turns out that Radcliffe who is in turn working for Nadeer has created his own LMD duplicate.
This episode has conspiracy on top of conspiracy and it would not surprise me in the least if fans of the show wind up repeat viewing the whole season in order to pick up on little things that they may have missed on the first viewing.
Agent May’s battle against Aida in the simulated dream sequence was well executed but hardly groundbreaking. It will be interesting to see how this journey for May pans out and how close her duplicate will get to Coulson in the coming weeks. Though I have to wonder how long it will take Coulson to catch on. If indeed he hasn’t already.
There is a bigger picture at play here, which we are as yet to fully understand. But we have already seen some pretty strong hints via Nadeer’s storyline.
On a closing note. It was nice to see some evolution in Mack and Yo Yo’s relationship, but done in such a way that it does not dominate the story. The CW should really take note.
