Synopsis: While on a mission to find Ray, Constantine and Nora discover Neron’s evil plan. Nate convinces the Legends to think outside the box and suggests a dangerous plan to unite magical creatures and people to save the world.
Review: Legends of Tomorrow dials up the crazy to the max.
The Story
Having learned about Neron’s plans. In a nutshell, Neron is using the threat of mythical creatures to amp up human feelings of fear so that he can open a portal from hell to allow his forces through unto the Earth. In order to thwart his plans. Nate comes up with a plan to build a theme park using mythical creatures in order to capture the childlike wonder that such creatures can bring out. But as always things go a bit wrong.
In hell, Constantine gets some much-needed help from Fairy Godmother Nora as they broker a deal with Astra to break into the soul exchange and steal Ray Palmer’s soul back.
The Acting
Once again Brandon Routh steals the show as the not so nice version of Ray that is Neron. The scenes he has with evil fairy godmother Tabitha are a lot of fun.
Also putting in what looks like her final performance as Zari is Tala Ashe who gives an emotional performance as well as a heroic one.
Overall
Out of all the CW series. ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ has always been the one that embraced the silliness of superheroes and owned it. And this episode pretty much does that and more.
I loved the speech that Charlie gives to motivate all the monsters on the ship into participating in the plan to help the Legends thwart Neron. And I also felt a little sad about Zari’s exit from the show. Especially given that she and Nate were only starting to warm to each other as a couple on the show.
I loved the CGI dragon. And the cuteness of a baby dragon dancing. However, I do not think it was dancing to a Song of ice and fire. I suspect that Drogon is still out East somewhere.
Overall. This was a pretty good season finale, which ended with the traditional twist, which in this case means that Astra is going to be causing trouble as she released a few of the worlds most evil souls unto the Earth.
